Notes from the Dragon's Den

To celebrate Canada's 150th birthday, our teams have been named after Canadian cities. Cheer on your team (and the opponents) and learn something new about Canada at the same time!

Equipment pick-up for coaches occurred on
Saturday, May 20. The equipment that was not picked up will be available as of Tuesday, May 23 at the soccer office.

Our season starts the week of May 22.

Dragons have rejoined the Ottawa Fury FC Fury Fanatics program for the 2017 season! The Fury Fanatics provides each U14-and-under player in our club with a free season pass to attend all Ottawa Fury FC home matches. Visit to view the schedule. To redeem your free ticket, visit, scroll down and click on the Dragons’ logo, and follow the instructions. Details on how to collect your 2017 Fury Fanatics passes will be provided shortly. In the meantime, you can still take advantage of the program without it! Simply visit the Fanatics website, redeem your tickets and you are set. We encourage you to wear your Dragons’ shirt to the game.

Note for U14 to U18 teams
This year in the various youth age groups (U14, U16 and U18), Dragons teams will play in a division that includes teams from other soccer clubs (Ottawa Internationals, Ottawa City, Nepean Hotspurs). In the past two years, our teams have played teams from other clubs at the U16 and U18 levels to add some variety to what would otherwise be a 2- or 4-team league. This has worked out quite well for all participants. The other teams play against us all season long and then join us for Soccer Day in August.

There have been some changes at the District level, which have left some clubs without a league for their recreational teams. They will play with our Dragons' teams in a league scheduled by the Dragons. You may therefore notice fields that you have never been to before.

This arrangement is benefiting the Dragons in divisions where we have a small number of teams, and it is allowing the players of these other three clubs to continue to play a game they love. We would like to hear from you on how this schedule worked in order to plan for next year. Please send your feedback, questions or comments to the Dragons’ office at
